Day 6 - God's power dwells in me

Day 6 - God's power dwells in me

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity
(of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear),
but [HE HAS GIVEN US A SPIRIT OF] POWER
and of love
and of calm and well-balanced mind
and discipline
and self-control.
2Timothy 1:7 (Amplified)
Or from the King James that I am use to hearing:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Mom also included 1Cor. 1:23:
But we preach Christ crucified, ...unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST THE POWER, and the wisdom of God.

Here it is in context from the Message version (vrs22-25):
"While Jews clamor for miraculous demonstrations
and Greeks go in for philosophical wisdom,
we go right on proclaiming Christ, the Crucified.
Jews treat this like an anti-miracle—
and Greeks pass it off as absurd.
But to us who are personally called by God himself
—both Jews and Greeks
—Christ is God's ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one. Human wisdom is so tinny, so impotent, next to the seeming absurdity of God.
Human strength can't begin to compete with God's "weakness."
